In the often hot and humid climate associated with Texas, it is crucial to create the right environment for your wine collection.

Before the cooling unit can be installed into a custom wine cellar, the room will need to be insulated. With this project, all of the existing drywall in the cellar on the ceiling and the walls had to be removed. The insulation and vapor barrier could then be installed.

Well-insulated wine cellars help achieve the correct temperature and climate of the room. This initial step will help the cooling unit work more efficiently.

When adding custom wine cellars to your home it is important to keep in mind that the atmosphere of the room is just right. Now that the family resides in a more humid climate, it was very important that the right cooling unit was installed for their wine collection.

For the San Antonio project, a Wine Guardian cooling system was selected to preserve the wine. This unit is a half-ton all-in-one system that has been ducted into the space. It exhausts the hot air into the atmosphere outside of the home.
