A Commercial Wine Storage System Perfect for City Vineyard in Montana
In Montana, we completed a project for City Vineyard, a commercial establishment that offers a wide selection of wine, craft beer, and gourmet food. They have a bottle shop where you can find more than 10,000 fine wines and craft beers stored in beer coolers.
With the goal of increasing the profit of their business, the owners sought our help in designing and building a commercial custom wine cellar that would highlight the wines they sell. We made a careful assessment to determine the needs and wants of the client. The factors that must be considered when creating a wine rack system are the size of the space, location, aesthetic preference, and budget.
Wine Cellar Specialists designed and installed commercial wine racks with many goals in mind. We wanted City Vineyard’s wine rack system to be visually appealing and functional, helping them to boost their sales while preserving the wine’s quality. Moreover, we designed the wine cellar to make inventory an easy task to do.
Styles and Features Commercial Custom Wine Cellar Racks Designed for a Store in Montana
Metal wine racks are common in high-end stores and dining establishments. However, for this particular project, the client wanted traditional style wine racks for their commercial custom wine cellar in Montana.
To make the wine racks look custom-built and professionally finished, we equipped them with 4-inch toe kicks and base moldings, and 2.25-inch crown moldings.
Stylish Round Island Wine Racks
Upon entering the City Vineyard through the front doors, you will be greeted with a couple of round island wine racks. These wine rack styles are eye-catching. The topmost section was designed to pitch a few bottles at an angle. Individual storage slots are located below it, which hold the bottles horizontally, with the neck facing out.
High-Density Commercial Custom Wine Cellar Racks Specifically Designed for a Store
Most of the wine racks we used in this were aisle wine racks. These high-density wine display racks offer customers many options. Moreover, they also allow convenience in browsing because the different types of wines are grouped.
In this large bottle shop, it is easy to find a specific wine because the owners put labels on the top of the wine racks.
The wines they offer include Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Weird Whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Rhone, Italy, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux, Sparkling, and Champagne.
The bottles on the top three rows are pitched at an angle. This bottle configuration allows the cork to be in contact with the wine, preventing the cork from getting dry and brittle. When the cork dries out, it will shrink and lose its sealing ability. When this happens, an unwanted amount of oxygen to enter the bottle and cause oxidation.
To maximize the storage capacity of the wine cellar, we designed the bottom sections with double-deep wine racks, which store one bottle one in front of the other. We also included wooden cases for storing wines in bulk.
On one of the walls, we installed commercial retail stackers. They hold the bottles horizontally (on top of each other) with the neck facing out. They have display ledges in front, which display the bottles in a vertical position. At the topmost section of the racking on the same wall, we added lattice X bins and rectangular bins. The bottles in these wine racks can be accessed through a rolling wine cellar ladder.
Wine Bar
In the bottle shop, you will find double door glass doors that lead to the wine bar. The area has a countertop that provides a space for decanting, serving, and drinking wines. The place is large and has an elegant interior. There are a couple of tables and chairs for customers who want to drink their favorite vintage paired with gourmet food. Adding stylish and functional wine racks enhanced the visual appeal of the wine bar.
In this commercial custom wine cellar project, we installed wine racks sitting on a countertop at the back section of the bar area. We decided to use double deep column wine racks on the left and right sides of the racking for maximum storage.
In the middle section, we provided storage for the wine glasses. There are four rows of stemware wine racks, which are designed to hold the glasses upside down. The extra space at the bottom of the stemware wine racks can be used to display some bottles or accouterments.
