Custom restaurant wine cellars are not just storage spaces but also places to learn about and enjoy different wines, adding extra fun and flavor to a dining experience. They represent the dedication to excellence and the commitment to offering guests an unforgettable gastronomic journey, one sip at a time. In one of their projects, we were hired by a general contractor to help with a unique commercial wine cellar project in Dallas. The owner was impressed with the result!
Custom Restaurant Wine Cellars Project by Wine Cellar Specialists: innovative Wine Storage System Designed to Boost Wine Sales
Hospitality wine cellars are becoming in demand in a commercial setting. Custom wine cellars in restaurants can have a few bottles or a huge variety, showcasing different types like reds, whites, or sparkling wines from various places worldwide.
They’re often well-organized to make it easy to find specific wines based on types, regions, or ages. A well-managed wine program can contribute significantly to a restaurant’s revenue. Upselling higher-end wines, wine pairing menus, or special events hosted around wines can be lucrative.
With many wine cellar installers in the market, it is best to do thorough research on the best contractor. Wine Cellar Specialists was contacted by a general wine cellar contractor of a stylish restaurant in Dallas. With many years of experience in the construction industry, our team offers high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Our goal is to exceed our client’s expectations.
With proper planning and design, we were able to provide all the specific needs of the owner. The wine room has an exclusive feel like a “speakeasy.” You have to go through a kitchen office to get to the cellar. The 13-foot-high wine cellar stores a massive selection of wines for diners to enjoy. The room has become popular since the wine cellar was installed. It has been booked three times out of four nights a week
Modern Wine Rack System Perfect for Creating Luxurious Displays in Custom Restaurant Wine Cellars
We assessed the needs of the client and came up with a design that would meet the client’s aesthetic and functional requirements. The owner wanted a highly productive and modern wine rack system, including a lot of label-forward bottle orientation. He requested not to incorporate wine racks facing forward into the design.
The restaurant owner wanted to create a wine storage system that would accommodate 750 ml and large format bottles, which included Cabernet, Pinot, and some 3-liter bottles.
Wine Cellar Specialists installed VintageView Evolution Series metal wine racks in a 13-foot high commercial wine cellar. The acrylic support panels and steel wine rods hold the bottles securely with a minimalist approach.
The setup consists of multiple shelves, displaying the bottles with the labels facing out for easy reading of the wine labels. The team installed case storage bins at the bottom section to provide space for wooden cases. The chic metal wine racks from VintageView are widely used in high-end restaurant wine cellars in Dallas, Texas.
Glass Wine Cellar Doors
Glass wine cellar doors are ideal for modern hospitality wine cellars. In addition to the luxurious appeal of glass doors, they also provide a clear view of the wine bottles from the outside.
In this project, our team installed four glass doors framed in metal for easy access to the wines. They utilized dual-paned, thermally insulated glass panels to reduce heat transfer through the glass panels. Doing so will prevent condensation build-up and mold growth inside the wine cellar. The doors were supplied by Solar.
Wine Cellar Refrigeration System
Restaurant wine cellars should be equipped with a reliable wine cooling system to provide the ideal wine storage conditions needed by wine to preserve its desirable characteristics. Regulated temperatures and humidity levels will ensure guests open a good bottle of wine.
We always perform a heat load calculation to determine the correct size of the refrigeration unit suitable for a particular project. Considering the size, location, and amount of glass used in the wine room, our team decided to use a fully ducted Wine Guardian wine refrigeration system. Wine Guardian’s products are engineered for maximum performance and installation flexibility.
The ductwork was a bit complicated in this wine cooling unit installation because of the small space between the ceiling of the building and that of the wine cellar. The supply and return vents were placed on the top corners of the wine room. The intake vent takes air from the restaurant itself, and the heat is exhausted to the roof. Since the attic space could not be used as an exhaust room because of its limited space, we found a way to exhaust the heat out to the ceiling.
The wine cooling system used in this commercial wine cellar offers quiet operation. You cannot hear any sound from the equipment, even if the doors are open. Self-contained units require less maintenance than split systems. An annual check-up is recommended to ensure your wine cooling system is in good condition and can achieve the ideal wine storage environment.
The HVAC technicians will have to check if the ducting is all-good and there are no leaks. It will help determine any issues earlier and solve them before they cause serious damage to your climate control system and damage the quality of your wines as well.
